It’s that time of the month again!

When I wait for all my boxes and am overly critical towards them! Honestly, I am very happy and usually really excited when I get them, but one must be cruel to be just!

If you are new to my reviews – Welcome! None of this is sponsored. I also rate things with my kittens. I hope you enjoy it!

Momo momo.png for negative score

&

Zeus Untitled for positive

None if this is reflective of their personalities! I love both of my shittens. If you want to see more of them you can find it on my Instagram @SaturdayonWednesday

Do you know what’s annoying? 3 of your subscription boxes being delivered 5 minutes apart from each other! Sure, that day is amazing but I wish they were spread out so Christmas would be 5 days instead of one. In a perfect universe… Look at me whine about receiving stuff – let’s get into it.

Glossybox was the first to get into my shaking with excitement hands. They had ditched the original pink box (don’t panic if you love it, it will be back) for this month and went with a lovely colour book design with a urban theme. I like it.

They seemed to have changed their info booklet as it now doesn’t tell you which product is a full size. Well that just complicates things. As if my life wasn’t complicated enough now I have to google stuff and things..ugh.

Let’s get into it.

Monthly price (including P&P) £12.75 for the 3 month rolling subscription. This box comes to £52.41

Enhancing Plump & Firm Moisturiser

Bee Good Youth

This deserves 4 Curiously Supportive Zeuses

Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled

_DSC1014
Full size £23.50. This is a travel size, which you can also buy for £14.50/15ml – pricey!

What

A plumping moisturising use it twice a day kind of cream. Suppose to (you can take a 5 min break here while I list the endless claims) plump and smoothen your skin, while brightening your complexion (racists), softening your skin,  leaving it dewy and glowing with luminosity. Okay.

How

Massage 1 medium-bug sized amount into your skin one or two times a day. Or you know, whenever you actually remember to. Which is not that often.

Pros

  • I have wanted to try this brand and now I get to (counts as a pro for everyone then haha)
  • It doesn’t smell like honey! I really don’t like honey scented products. Smells like citrus fruit, yay!
  • Quick to absorb
  • Does leave your skin a bit luminous

Cons

  • It doesn’t feel very moisturizing

Would I buy it & should you?

I really do like this product, it smells nice, it gets absorbed really freaking fast, it does make my skin feel softer, and it is known that a cream is healthier for your skin if it’s in a tube. But I think this is a bit too expensive for what it is. I feel I would still have to use another moisturizer with this so I probably will not repurchase this. But I need to try it out for longer.

Nail Gel

Loceryl

This gets 3 Curiously Supportive Zeuses

Untitled Untitled Untitled

_DSC1017
Full size and it’s £16.99

What

Repairing, colour correcting nail gel

How

Something about rubbing gel into your nails doesn’t settle well with me but I have to try it in case it works.

Pros

  • Looks very medicine-like, so must be legit..right? Logic.

Cons

  • I can’t really say much without trying this for a longer period of time.

Could alternatively be used as a quick date stopper. Just whip this out of your handbag and start rubbing your discoloured toes during desert. A move that guarantees a successful date. Try it.

Would I buy it again & should you?

If my nails were in serious need of some love and this would actually work then yes, I would pay £16.99 for the first aid. If your nails are okay-ish then some multivitamins would fix that for a bit cheaper and with more long term benefits.

Velvet Lippie (more like Shittie)

Absolute New York

You know what, this gets 6 Give me my Cash-monies back Momo’s, because it sucks just that tinny bit more than even possible

momo.png momo.png momo.png momo.png momo.png momo.png

_DSC1012
What

Not a lip product

How

Just don’t

Pros

  • Nope

Cons

  • I’ve been sitting here, trying to find a good comparison for this ..’lippie’. Maybe if you would mix acrylic paint with melted play doh and tried to apply that, maybe that would still turn out better than this.

Could alternatively be used as absolutely nothing. I am sorry but this is worthless. It’s very good at that!

Would I buy it & should you?

Hahaha…haha..hah. Give me my fiver back. This has claimed the Worst Item in all of the boxes ever badge, and is stealing this honour from the Next Palette in April’s Glossybox.  Not to be dramatic, but this might actually be the worst make up item in existence. Should I be worried that it’s always Glossybox? I shouldn’t, but someone from the Glosybox should.

Hand Therapy

Crabtree and Evelyn

3 Very Curiously Supportive Zeuses

Untitled Untitled

_DSC1019
A full size (though you can buy a ‘fuller’ size if you wish so) and it’s £5.00

What

Hand cream with shea butter, macadamia nut oil, and myrrh (aromatic raisin).

How

Like you would a hand cream.

Pros

  • Dries fast

Cons

  • I do not like the smell, it’s  not as bad as the cream from April’s Cohorted Golden Elements Nail kit but it is still way too strong to be ignored
  • Leaves my hands feeling quite dry, which is not ideal after a hand cream

Would I buy it again & should you?

No, not really. So you might now ask why I gave this 2 Zeus’es, well because anything that has Crabtree written on it gets points from me. Not because of the brand, I don’t know much about it, but because Crabtree is an awesome word and a scary concept.

Mascara

Revlon

3 Very Curiously Supportive Zeuses

Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled

_DSC1020
Full size and worth £9.99, because that looks like it’s much less than a double figure

What

A relatively newly released mascara that Glossies actually got to choose from the 5 different ones that Revlon offers. I had already bought the Volume one (pink) when this got released and so I had chosen the All in One (as seen in the picture) because I was intrigued by the tiny teeny wand!

How

Carefully, preferably.

Pros

  • This was actually quite good! It’s not my favourite but I can see myself using it up. It gives lots of lenght and is jet black. For people who need more lenght than volume this could be a win
  • Since the wand is so small it’s easy to reach every place that you need.

Cons

  • does not provide gazillions of volume

Could alternatively be used as a lower lash-only mascara, I might do just that.

Would I buy it and should you?

I would if I was travelling and needed a wallet friendly mascara on the go. I will not buy this anytime soon though, as I have other mascaras that suit me better already. Look out for a big mascara battle post!

Something little extra

_DSC1022

Oh hello there, little pack of goodness. This is a snack well known and loved by myself, as this is my vending machine sin for when I cannot resist a snack at work. If you haven’t tried any Sweet & Salty popcorn – do! It might sound a bit weird but it’s tasty. Live a little.

VERDICT

This box looked very promising with it’s gorgeous design, spring-green wrapping paper and a tasty snack being right there in your face once you open it.

However, overall this was more of a miss to me. I am glad I liked my Revlon mascara but I feel like they are hit or miss so some of the Glossies will be disappointed. The hand cream has such a strong scent that I want to wash my hands immediately after I apply it, which is not ideal now is it. The nail gel, whilst unnecessary, could prove useful and I am glad and happy to have received the Bee Good cream. I am not even going to talk about the ‘lippie’ as it’s in a trashcan already. I usually gift the items I will not use to someone who will like it and use it so not to waste it, but I would feel bad giving this to someone.

The design is great, one product is amazing, one is all right and the other were meh. At least I got popcorn to eat while I write.

I am hoping that June is better, that’s when my subscription ends and I am sadly thinking of not renewing this if it does not pick up. Glossybox seems to be okay overall but I find myself not looking forward to it as much as the other boxes.

I believe the box was:

WHY, NO, STAPH!

REALLY POOR

MEH

SETTLING ON PASSABLE

ABOVE AVERAGE

REALLY ENJOYABLE

AWESOME

PERFECTION IN A BOX

What did you think of this? Have you tried the Revlon mascara? Which item did you like the best? What are your plans for the weekend? Haha.

Keep your eyes open for the reviews of Birchbox, My Little Box and Cohorted. And for you stationary lovers there will be a Papergang review coming!

Hey there! Welcome to my Everything Blog. You know those lovely organised people who have a niche? Well that's not me, my blog is just like my mind, jumping from one thought to another. Sorry (but not too sorry). I have a degree in Psychology and am a proud owner of two amazing kittens Zeus and Momo, although thoroughly a dog person! I love cooking, I surely love eating, reading and exploring. I have created this blog with hope that I can lighten up the mid-week Wednesday with some Saturday chill vibes. Hopefully you enjoy your Saturdays On Wednesdays as much as I enjoy mine. With Love, G xoxo

  1. The part where you said ” Could alternatively be used as a quick date stopper. Just whip this out of your handbag and start rubbing your discoloured toes during desert.” Made be genuinely laugh out loud! Great post x
