It’s that time of the month again!

When I wait for all my boxes and am overly critical towards them! Honestly, I am very happy and usually really excited when I get them, but one must be cruel to be just!

If you are new to my reviews – Welcome! None of this is sponsored. I also rate things with my kittens. I hope you enjoy it!

Momo momo.png for negative score

&

Zeus Untitled for positive

None if this is reflective of their personalities! I love both of my shittens. If you want to see more of them you can find it on my Instagram @SaturdayonWednesday

I had little hope to see My Little Box this month, because my April one has not reached me and was sent back to France on two different occasions. There are many reasons for that and I tend not to be a prick and understand that human mistakes happen. However the magic is gone by now so I just asked for the refund. I was a bit disappointed. However, after opening this one I think that My Little Box is back in the game!

I’m not sure what’s the deal with all the boxes always having really similar themes, but this one was also all about travelling. In my opinion, My Little Box is always very hard to beat when it comes to design, and this box was no exception. The cover was gorgeous and classy, there was a little cheesy card inside if you’re into that too. I loved the bow though, there is something very satisfying in pulling at that one end to open it, just feels like a real gift, even though you pay for it yourself. The box could barely fit everything in and definitely felt the heaviest one from all of them. This was some form of boxception, as the box contained more boxes to open! Opening boxes might be one of my favourite things to do in life. I should work in the department of reversed packaging. I wish that was a thing.

Birchbox costs £14.95 including P&P                                                   The samples in the box come to the total of £48.21, roughly. As converted from € to £.

A ring

My Little Box

 £12

What?

A really freaking pretty ring! It’s something I would actually pick out in a shop myself.

How?

You try to find a finger that’s not a sausage and this ring fits on it comfortably. 2/5 was not a bad score, good job fingers!

Pro’s

  •  So pretty and very appropriate for spring. ‘Appropriate’. I just involuntary imagined a whole series of inappropriate rings. That involved genitals. Good going brain. Very mature.

Con’s

  • This looks like it’s adjustable, but it’s not. So if you’re fingers are not within the norm this might not fit. Which is silly. I mean it fits me, but it’s still a bit loose on the finger I am wearing it, I’m just lucky it doesn’t fall off. In a service like this one it surely it would make sense to make it adjustable to everyone.

Could alternatively be used as: a necklace. When a ring fails to fit, always make it into a necklace. Or if you’re not allowed to wear rings at work because of some silly policy.

Would I buy it & should you?

I really would. I think it’s gorgeous!

La Fille de l’air

Full size costs £54.27, sample would cost £9.23

What?

Pro’s

  • It’s a very generous perfume sample, as usually these are smaller than the chances of a politician actually delivering on their pre-selection promises

Con’s

  • I’m not crazy about the scent, but I don’t hate it.

Could alternatively be used as: deodorant for your dog. You know he smells.

Would I buy it & should you?

I wouldn’t buy it, as it is quite an expensive perfume and I am not in love with it. But I will use it. I just would’t buy it. So this still worked out.

The Divine Marchesa’s Oil

Baija Paris

Full size is £13.29, the sample is worth £7.98

What?

A multipurpose semi-dry (means it partially hardens once exposed to oxygen) body oil.

How?

You can use it as you would a body lotion or you can apply this during the end of your shower, rinse and dry. You could also use this as a bath oil. Or you can use it as a massage oil.

Pro’s

  • Anything that is not a leave-on product for my skin and can be used in a shower to later avoid oil stains on my clothes is a yes please in my book
  • It smells amazing. Surprisingly it’s scented with jasmine and green tea. However, jasmine seemed to always just remind me of funerals and dead bodies (there is obviously some sort of horrible association link in my brain that one time I am sure will be rediscovered. Not looking forward to that), but this is not the case in this oil. Yay!
  • It does leave my skin very soft and the smell calms me down. So I’m all soft and chilled.

Con’s

  • Nope.

Alternatively could be used as: it pretty much can already be used as anything.

Would I buy it and should you?

Who doesn’t love the multipurpose all-in-one product? I sure do. This is a very decent size sample for a beauty box, of a brand I would not have discovered on my own and I am genuinely excited to use this. This item is the reason I subscribe to these things! Thank you and about time!

Summer Sunbathing

My Little Box

I give this 3 Curiously Supportive Zeuses

Untitled Untitled Untitled

£8

What?

It’s an ‘illuminating moisturiser for your legs’ on the info leaflet and then a ‘gradual, moisturising self-tanner’ on the actual product. So I tend to believe what’s written on the product. You would think it’s worth mentioning the tanning bit though, right?

How?

‘Do not apply to face. Rinse hands thoroughly after application. Avoid contact with water for at least 3h. Does not provide sun protection’ – I am mostly worried that they feel they have to specify you should not use this for your face. If something is for my feet or legs I would be kind of apprehensive on using it on my face. It’s like when they write that Paracetamol is for ‘oral use only’ – where else are we going to use that through?! (Don’t answer that).

Pro’s

  • It smells amazing! Very sweet but not sickly sweet.
  • As a person who reacts to self tanners as a vampire would to garlic, a gradual one might not be such a bad concept. I will try it. Will probably mess it up somehow still, yet I will not run away from it. That’s something.

Con’s

  • It’s a self tanner. I wish a little bit that it would just be an illuminating moisturiser. I’m not very adventurous, am I?

Would I buy it & should you?

I wouldn’t buy it, but then again I am glad I have received this and will definitely give it a proper go.

Turban

My Little Box

This deserves 4 Curiously Supportive Zeuses

£11

What?

A turban thingy.

How?

My Little Box had your back here. On the back of the turban box there were 4 suggested ways of wearing this (though one was for your wrist which I find a bit ‘whaaat?’-worthy. Inside the actual magazine they actually had 6 more suggestions. And then if that fails, there’s always Pinterest to lean on.

Pro’s

  • The pattern is really nice for spring
  • They did give you suggestions on how to wear it
  • Mine even smelled like eucalyptus, and I love that!
  • It has a stretchy bit at the end of it so would suit the big-headed geniuses too

Could alternatively be used as: a dust cloth. If you absolutely hate it at least make some use of it. Clean with style. Literally.

Would I buy it and should you?

Turbans were never my thing. But if I am willing to try a self-tanner I am damn sure giving this a go. I am not sure if I would do that in public but I am loving this at home with no make up, just a matching electric eye pencil. Somehow I feel like I’m in the 80’s, makes me wanna dance a bit to some old tunes. Which is fine, because I am at home and no one can see me wiggle my bum.

VERDICT

If you are someone who reads my reviews often (thank you for coming back!) then you might be a bit surprised I didn’t curse every product I have gotten. The thing is, I am very passionate about my boxes so I either really hate the product or really love it. This was definitely the case of loving the whole box. There was not a single product I did not enjoy, most of these things are novel for me, from brands I would not have tried if I haven’t received this box, everything smells like spring, samples are brilliantly sized, the ring is a lovely little addition that makes the whole box oh so worth it! I am so happy with this I cannot be mad about the last month. Good job, My Little Box, you truly made me feel like this was My Little Box.

I believe the box was:

WHY, NO, STAPH!

REALLY POOR

MEH

SETTLING ON PASSABLE

ABOVE AVERAGE

REALLY ENJOYABLE

AWESOME

PERFECTION IN A BOX

What are your thoughts on the box? Did you receive it and did you like your products? Let me know in the comments!

I hope you had a brilliant weekend and thank you for reading ❤

I love cooking, I surely love eating, reading and exploring. I have created this blog with hope that I can lighten up the mid-week Wednesday with some Saturday chill vibes. Hopefully you enjoy your Saturdays On Wednesdays as much as I enjoy mine. With Love, G xoxo

  1. As absolutely always this was a pleasure to read and gave me the giggles in some places haha! If this box has your approval on every single product then this must be amazing, and I must look into it. I value your opinion highly as I know you are often give a harsh verdict! 1. Thank you honey! Xxx I really do recommend this box although I know some people got bored of it after a while ( but that’s after like 2 years). I am still very much in love with it and as you said, I’m not that easily impressed haha

I’m so happy you enjoyed reading this ❤️

      1. I think I would get bored of any subscription after 2 years! I will definitely check it out though, it looks really lovely, and if it impresses you, it will very likely impress me.
I enjoy reading everything you write, you have a wonderful way with words xxx
