Papergang June 2016

Hello lovely people. A week or so ago, I have received my second Papergang box. The lady that brought my days mail to me at the office was very intrigued by the pug cut out on it, but I just greeted her with ‘don’t question it’ look. If I thought that the last box was great, well this one just raised the level of my expectations for the next one wayyyyyy up there. Papergang collaborated with Gemma Correll, and my love for her is strong and deep. Her cup always gets me through the work day. I was bound to love this.

QUESTION: what’s your favourite notebook? Please let me know, I am genuinely curious!

I pay £10 for Papergang on a 3 month subscription

The products in this box came to £26.10

A5 Lined Notebook

I give this 5  Curiously Supportive Zeuses (OFC!!)

£7.95

My new favourite notebook. The moment I touched it I knew this is going to be a permanent family member in my already over packed tote. It feels very luxurious but then the yoga pugs brings it down a notch and all in all it’s incredible. Yoga pugs? – instantly sold. I have collected so many notebooks that just sit in the drawer and wait ‘their turn’ but this was an instant hit and I am already using it for organising my blog. I think it’s the semi sturdy cover that appeals to me (besides the design, of course),  it’s still soft but will always be okay in the bag. I also adore the fact that it’s black and white, no-nonsense sort of design. It soothes my eyes and my soul. I love that it has a bookmarker because  my general opinion is that everything should come with an inbuilt bookmarker. Not even kidding. Why the hell not? It’s so useful!

P.S. The lining is orange and it satisfies me so much as it matches my planner (yes, I care)

Dancing Pug Pen

I give this 5  Curiously Supportive Zeuses (again)

£7.95 (why is the same as the notebook?)

This is an excellent ball pen, as pens go. It’s not too heavy and it’s comfortable to write with. But let’s get real, if this was a crappy pen we would still use it, because it has fricking dancing pugs on it. Can you even handle that? I’m not sure I can.

3 x 5m Washi Tapes

I give this 4  Curiously Supportive Zeuses

£5.95

Listen to the girl with a whole drawer full of washi tape say that she is not into it anymore. Yup, that happened. However, if I would love any washi tapes it would be these. Hands down the best ones I own. I stopped using washi’s because I started to get annoyed at how I fail to apply these straight and how I manage to cut them all weird. But these are not only beautiful but they also feel like they are of much better quality than the other ones I own. They go on so nicely and merge with the paper! Very tidy.

The tapes included were the original Gemma Correll red/white stripes, the dancing pug (ofc) and some soft-insult tape with likes of Pug Off and Meh, as well as Congratulations and Happy Birthday. So you can find lots of uses for that one! Dancing pug is still the best! Just the way it wiggles the bum and smiles at you. Makes my day.

Giftwrap

I give this 3 Curiously Supportive Zeuses

_DSC0458When it comes to gift wrapping I am very much a single color type of girl. I love classy looking packaging and don’t usually wrap my gfits in a goofy way. But I am going to visit my  family at some point soon and will probably bring something for my nephew (trying to buy his approval with gifts as I am a very lousy aunt. Or just generally lousy person when it comes to children) so I will be using this for him. It’s a fun wrap, just again, not something I would use. Still adorable.

Greeting Card

_DSC0457As I mentioned in the previous box review, I am not a huge card person, I never understood the need for them. But this card though! it came at the perfect time, it was the day when we learnt the outcome of the referendum and it just summed up how I felt so accurately I could just go ahead and frame it. I actually feel like this most of the time at work, I don’t think I will be giving this card to anyone, no thanks, this will stay with me as a representation of my spiritual animal. Love it.

VERDICT

This is officially crowned as the best subscription box of June in my Favourites post, and I don’t think a box has gotten such a positive review for all of the things included on my blog…ever. I have replaced my Erin Condren notebook with the one I have received here to plan my blogging (much more practical to carry around) and I have replaced my trusted copper pen with this pug one because it is slightly lighter and more comfortable to write with. I use these everyday and what other indicator do you need to know that the box has been amazing?

I believe the box was:

WHY, NO, STAPH!

REALLY POOR

MEH

SETTLING ON PASSABLE

ABOVE AVERAGE

REALLY ENJOYABLE

AWESOME

PERFECTION IN A BOX

If you like this and want to spoil yourself too, please use my referral link. I don’t think you get a discount, but every 2 friends that I refer I get a free box sent to me. So it’s a nice thing to do. And everyone likes nice people. Be nice.

Hey there! Welcome to my Everything Blog. You know those lovely organised people who have a niche? Well that's not me, my blog is just like my mind, jumping from one thought to another. Sorry (but not too sorry). I have a degree in Psychology and am a proud owner of two amazing kittens Zeus and Momo, although thoroughly a dog person! I love cooking, I surely love eating, reading and exploring. I have created this blog with hope that I can lighten up the mid-week Wednesday with some Saturday chill vibes. Hopefully you enjoy your Saturdays On Wednesdays as much as I enjoy mine. With Love, G xoxo

  1. Wow, how cool is that! Love the idea of getting these packages in the mail. Love stationery, love notebooks, love craft – so this is awesome.

  2. I know this is only your second box, but as I have been subscribed from Papergang’s beginnings, I can tell you that this is absolutely the BEST BOX THEY HAVE MADE. They have set the bar very high for next month, very high indeed.
As for your notebook question, for me it truly depends on what I’m using it for. If it’s an in my handbag sort of notebook then I tend to go for an A6 plastic cover sort of notebook, small but handy, and the plastic keeps it clean amongst my crap. For serious writing, or to be used at a desk, then I like a good linen bound A5. Whatever the occasion though, keep wiro’s away from me. I do not agree with wiro notebooks! xxx

    1. I also think that the bar is so high now that I will be oh so surprised if they actually top this! Very happy, granted, but also surprised haha. I always feel a bit sad after a really great box as I know the next one is going to be worse.

I think I like them big (haha). I never sucesfully used a notebook that’s anything smaller than a5 and I don’t think I ever will. This yoga pug notebook is now living in my handbag and it’s amazing. It’s just a definition of amazing. But then at home I used to use A4 and bigger haha. I now pretty much always go for A5 for everything. I think it’s the perfect size.
I had to google wiro there, but let’s pretend I didn’t. Do you mean the binding or the actual basic shitty style of them? haha xxx

      1. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed and our expectations reasonable haha!
The notes I take in my little A6 notebook never make any sense, they tend to just be random phone numbers, calculations, the odd name of a book or a place or something. Never any fully constructed sentences haha!
The wire binding or a wiro is crappy, it always ends up bending it’s way our of place, or the cover works its way off the binding and then you have a coverless shitty wiro which makes it even worse. Then theres the crappy poly pro plastic that the covers are actually made of, everything about them makes me irrationally uncomfortable. This is make worse by the fact that I have a second job in paperchase and I have to deal with tidying the damn things every week! xxxx
