*My Little Box is a monthly subscription box that costs £15.95 per month and, like other subscription boxes, arrives to your door. However, unlike most of the beauty boxes My Little Box also includes some non-beauty yet beautiful bits and pieces, which is why it’s so special to me.
I’m always really excited to get my hands on My Little Box boxes, as these are one of my all time favourites. When I realised that the theme was Friends my Friends TV show inner fangirl had many theories of what could be inside, none of them were true of course as this was about the ‘real world’ friends…pfft. Shame! Maybe next time? In the meantime, you can check out previous unboxings here. Looksy at how pretty this is:
Also, can we appreciate the awesome bags the goodies come in? I keep all of them.
In the territory of Give me my Cash-monies back Momos (from 1 to 5, 5 being the worst)
The category where Zeus and Momo have a party and don’t really have any strong opinions about anything else.
Anything from 2 to 4 Very Curiously Supportive Zeuses
First thing that caught my eye was this adorable little Nail Kit (£7.5) by My Little Box. Look at it! It’s so cushioned too, it’s just perfect for travelling or keeping in your bag at all times. I’m so clueless, can someone explain me what those two metal tools are for (this is from the series ‘What you have always wondered but were too afraid to ask: young adults edition’), you know the ones on the right for both sides. They sort of look like miniature torture tools if you ask me. Definitely at least 4 Zeuses, because I do find myself in need of some filling more than I should!
Mini (75ml) version of Batiste Hairspray (full size is £4.49, so this is £0.84). I’m not going to say that Batiste is my favourite brand for hairspray, but they are not bad either. Hairspray is something people actually use and so this is always helpful. I would rather have lots of small different brand bottles than the one giant hairspray that you get bored of in 2 weeks but there’s no reason to replace it. Solid 3 Zeuses.
You’d be surprised how heavy and sturdy this, of what I can only assume is a tinted lip balm, Summer Lips from My Little Box (£12) is. It feels great on your lips, definitely moisturises and leaves just enough tint of colour too. Sadly the shade is not very flattering on me, it’s very much a strawberry red and that doesn’t look great on the face that battles redness every damn day. But I will still use it, I think this is a great product and it feels very secure option for those of us that drop our bag whenever you arrive at your destination. It would probably survive anything, it’s so well made. Plus it’s adorable, it has flamingos on it, I mean c’mon. However due to bad luck with the shade I can only give this 3 Zeuses.
A little pack of Sweet & Salted ProperCorn popcorn (£1) is always a welcome addition. If you don’t like Sweet & Salted popcorn, I am sorry but you need sort your shit together and live a little. 4 Zeuses, even though this lasted like 10 minutes after this photo was taken.
I usually don’t like face creams in my boxes, but when it comes in a full size of 40ml and contains Yellow (what other kinds are there?) Banana & Mango butters I am not going to say not to that. This is Hydramuse from Kadalys and this size costs £15.66. There’s also a code (mylittlebox) to use on their website, but I have so many samples of moisturisers I don’t think I’ll need to buy it myself anytime soon, plus it’s half in french so I’ll pass. I will use this up though, 4 Zeuses.
My top pick from the box: 4 or 5 Very Curiously Supportive Zeuses
How exciting and well presented is this? It’s a small Fish Eye lens for your phone camera from My Little Box (£12). While completely unnecessary and a little bit useless this brought me joy and was quite fun to use, isn’t that the point then? It’s the fun things that really count. It even has it’s own little pouch to carry it about. There’s just something adorable about things in smaller sizes (that’s not what she said though haha). Here’s a few photos just so you can see what it looks like through your phone.
I really enjoyed it. The fish eye lens added something different and made the box stand out from the other ones. It wasn’t an amazing box but, as the categorisation suggests, most of the items were good. The overall value is £49 which is great for what you pay, and everything is just so darn cute. I will use basically all of the items and that’s one of the main things I look for in a good box really. So yay! However I have to admit I don’t think the theme was reflected at all, if not for the box cover I would have forgotten about it whatsoever! Even so, I can’t wait till the next one.
I believe the box was:
WHY, NO, STAPH! REALLY POOR MEH SETTLING ON PASSABLE ABOVE AVERAGE REALLY ENJOYABLE
PERFECTION IN A BOX
What are your thoughts on the box?
