*Cohorted is a monthly high-end (ish) subscription box. It’s pricier than most and goes for £35 per month, however as a rule the value of the products is at least twice as high than you pay for. Cohorted also offers a perfume box if you’re interested.
When I had a sneak peak inside this box at work I could barely contain my excitement silent. Honestly, the first few months I was on a so-so basis with this box but recently it is kicking the bottoms of the other beauty boxes big time! Generally speaking I am quite harsh on the products (or critical, depends how you look at it!) so deciding on The Best is not that hard, though this month I had to pro & con this – that’s how seriously I take this. It will come to no surprise to you from this intro that there were no bad or meh products, so you can just skip to the goodies (get it? Of course you do, it wasn’t subtle or good…moving on!).
In the territory of Give me my Cash-monies back Momos (from 1 to 5, 5 being the worst)
The category where Zeus and Momo have a party and don’t really have any strong opinions about anything else.
Anything from 2 to 4 Very Curiously Supportive Zeuses
Anti-Frizz Sheets by Nunzio Saviano (£14) are something I can’t say that I have seen before. What I have seen is plenty of frizz. I only tried this once before washing my hair and it did make it sleeker however since my hair was in a state already I couldn’t decide if it’s the sheets making it quite icky or was it just me being gross. I will definately going to give this a go on a night out when my hair goes a little bit crazy (I’m talking hardly fitting through the door sort-of-crazy.). Between 3.5 Zeuses (not that i would cut my cat in half!), I love trying new things! (Again, not the cat!)
Andy Warhol Eyeshadow Palette Flowers 3 from NARS (£45!). First of all, NARS for me was always a brand I admired without actual reason or owning any products (I know you all have a brand like this, right…right?) so seeing this in a box was …well, YAY! Then I saw Andy Warhol written on it, and being quite fond of pop art (trying to keep my cool here) I was beyong excited to see this. Plus, I strongly believe that this is more of a collectible at this point as NARS doesn’t seem to make these anymore and it’s fairly hard to get your hand on this. On one hand it’s awesome because hey – it’s rare, but on the other hand, what if you like it and want another one? Well, tough then. (Also it sort of makes me wonder how old is this? Not that it matters as I am too afraid to use this so not to ruin how it looks..oh yeah, I should probably show you, shouldn’t I?)How cool? Pretty cool.
Two samples (3ml each) of Lancome Precious Cells Eye Cream. These samples alone are £25 which is crazy! The full size goes fro £144 which blows my mind and also means I cannot afford it. But I welcome this with more than open arms, I welcome this with a huge smile, a home cooked meal and a massage if it desired so. I don’t actually own an eye cream and as someone who doesn’t get them sleep hours in, I really should. This is perfect. 4 Zeuses.
To top even that, Cohorted are releasing their own oval brushes (how do you call it if you don’t want to just say Artis?) and subscribers got one random brush to try. I do wish they had labeled them somehow so I would know for sure which one I got, but I am like 89% sure this is the face powder brush (£18) from their Ovali Collection, however, the rebel that I am, I’m using this for liquid foundation. Who’s gonna stop me, the make up police? It’s just that I don’t use powder as a base. I am loving it so far! It’s so so soft, like a domesticated clean squirrel rubbing on your face (I’m sorry for this comparison but I am sticking with it as I think it’s accurate haha). This battled for The Best position very hard, however due to the lack of sturdiness in the handle it lost. I am sure the smaller brushes are fine, but they should improve the handles on the bigger ones. 4 Zeuses.
My top pick from the box: 4 or 5 Very Curiously Supportive Zeuses
The item in this month’s Brand Discovery section stole the show for me. It’s a nail polish in Subnormal from Smith £ Cult. I am not even that big on nail polishes and generally am the laziest person, who as a rule fails to wait for her nails to dry to scratch something and ruin it all. Or apply more than one layer, and don’t even talk about a top layer with me. One layer of this nail polish was opaque af, the colour is gorgeous, it dried in no more than 1 minute and it’s shiny like a freaking diamond. I only applied this before editing these photos and hit multiple keys whilst doing that and it’s still holding up a minute after I applied it. What sort of magic is this? I don’t know how well it will last, but I have high hopes. The packaging is very luxurious and heavy, definitely feels and looks expensive. No wonder it’s £19. Would never had bought this myself, but man am I happy I received this!
Best. Cohorted. Box. EVER.
