Papergang September 2016

This month’s Papergang chose a water theme (might be wrong here guys, but I’m just going by what I see so no judging). Everything featured a beautiful deep bright blue colour although I am not too sure how I feel about the contents. So let’s just go over these together.

*Papergang is monthly subscription box that costs £9.60 per month. If you like this and want to spoil yourself too, please use my referral link. I don’t think you get a discount, but every 2 friends that I refer I get a free box sent to me. So it’s a nice thing to do. And everyone likes nice people. Be nice.

In the territory of Give me my Cash-monies back Momos (from 1 to 5, 5 being the worst)

I’d have to say that both the wrapping paper and the little calendar are a bit between the bad and meh. I am very much of a simple single colour wrapping paper (£1.75) kind of gal and I am not sure when I’m going to use this one. Maybe for gifts to my nephews? I don’t know, it’s maybe too ‘wild’ for me hah. Sadness. And you already know how I feel about the calendar, but hey! They listened and stopped putting a price on this! It was ridiculously priced as £1.25 or something like that. Just no. So yay they stopped that.

The category where Zeus and Momo have a party and don’t really have any strong opinions about anything else.

Sadly, what I can only image was supposed to be the star of the box, was really meh for me this month. Whilst I like the inside of this weekly planner (£9.95) the design is KILLING ME. I don’t know if you can see it from the pictures but it’s sheathed in this plastic cover that sticks to the blue cover and makes it look wet. This reminds me of 90s so badly, you might remember they had everything in this design, I am talking shoes, planner, purses – everything. I wasn’t a fan then and I am sure as hell not a fan of it now. I can sugar coat it, it just feels cheap. Like…really cheap. It’s so stiff and has such a strong scent of plastic.  I took it out of it hoping it will be fine but the blue cover is not attached to the planner so it looks really weird now. Still better than with that rubber/plastic case. It is so weird to the touch and it would collect all the dirt if you carried it in your bag!

That being said, I do like the layout:

But meh. Man..such a big meh!

*I’ll still use it because I don’t want to be wasteful*

The Good

Anything from 2 to 4 Very Curiously Supportive Zeuses

Love these two cards! They are adorable and knowing how expensive cheeky cards are, I suppose it does no harm to stock up on them! (RPR £2.50 each)

I have been using sticky notes like it’s air! Left and right, just sticky notes everywhere. My computer screen at work is so covered in sticky notes that I can barely see what’s actually displayed. It’s getting a bit crazy. And even though no other sticky note design has ever been better than the ice ones from Mochithings, these are pretty funny and motivating (in a way). So all up for that! £3.50.

My top pick from the box: 4 or 5 Very Curiously Supportive Zeuses

There was nothing that stood out in this box as the best product. *Cries a little*

I don’t know how to feel. I still cannot believe how amazing the last box was. That gorgeous notebook is my all time favourite and is proudly displayed on my desk every day. And then this box happens. I feel so underwhelmed. I did like most of these things but when I think of it in terms of would I actually pick any of these at the shop? I would grab the post it notes, maybe. But that’s it. So did I just waste £10? That’s at least 1 paperback book from amazing. This is how I assess value of things nowadays haha. It works!

I have been in love with this subscription so I cannot say goodbye just yet but this one was a miss for me.

I believe the box was:

What are your thoughts on the box? Am I overreacting?

Saturday on wednesday

Hey there! Welcome to my Everything Blog. You know those lovely organised people who have a niche? Well that's not me, my blog is just like my mind, jumping from one thought to another. Sorry (but not too sorry). I have a degree in Psychology and am a proud owner of two amazing kittens Zeus and Momo, although thoroughly a dog person! I love cooking, I surely love eating, reading and exploring. I have created this blog with hope that I can lighten up the mid-week Wednesday with some Saturday chill vibes. Hopefully you enjoy your Saturdays On Wednesdays as much as I enjoy mine. With Love, G xoxo

    1. Oh hey there! Thank you so much for using the link 💋 I only hope that the box is better next month! August one was awesome but this one was really not that great 😥 let me know what you think once you get it!! Xxx

  1. I don’t like the look of this one either. I totally get what you mean about the wet look 90’d feel to.
Maybe this one feels so bad because last months was so good. Whenever I see Papergang unboxes I rarely like anything. Last months was the only one I’ve been sad to miss x

    1. I loved the Pug one too and then last month was incredible. But this month. It’s just so meh. I do usually love unboxing these there’s something really warm about this subscription and I love how all the providers are local businesses. But yeah. This one is a big miss 😥
